On Friday, September 30, 2011, the Florida Cattleman's Association kicks off the 4th Annual Florida Ranch Rodeo Finals and Cowboy Heritage Festival at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee. Don your best cowboy hat for a full weekend of activities and programs perfect for the whole family. Teams of cowboys from working ranches throughout Florida have been competing in regional rodeos all year. Sixteen winning teams have earned a position to participate in the Florida Ranch Rodeo Finals competition to vie for the title of State Champion. The Cowboy Heritage Festival features singers, performers, artists and many reenactment history camps. Meet cowboy authors, poets, and visit with a variety of displays and exhibits that demonstrate how life was lived in early Florida. Admission to the Festival is free to the public. Participate in our famous Beef Brisket Cook Off competition on Saturday by joining the "People's Choice Contest,", where these cowboys will also be cookin’ up one of Florida’s native culinary creations – Swamp Cabbage. Be sure and catch the Whip Poppin’ contest and historic cattle rustling reenactment while you’re there. Saturday evening will also feature our "Cowboy Meet and Greet" where you and your family can talk with the real ranch rodeo cowboys who will be competing in the arena moments later. The kids can get into the rodeo action on Saturday evening with our "boot scramble" event.
